Food during your stay
On arrival we like to meet and greet our guests with a relaxing afternoon tea with homemade cake or scones, taken either in the garden or in front of the open fire in the winter.
Breakfast is served in the cottage dining room surrounded by antiques and burning candles for those who rise early. We offer a choice of cereals or porridge; seasonal fresh fruit salad; nuts; fruit juice; selection of yogurts; full English breakfast (or a choice therefrom) or smoked salmon and scrmbled eggs, or a choice of omelettes; toast with homemade jams; croissants; and of course lots of tea and fresh coffee.
For the early riser who does not want a cooked breakfast, I am happy to provide cereal, fruit and toast and then to make up a couple of hearty sandwiches for later in the day.
There are a number of excellent local pubs providing an evening meal. Within 5 minutes walk of the cottage is The Hampshire Arms, and 10 minutes stroll will take you to the heart of Crondall where there is a village store with Post Office and another pub, The Plume of Feathers which dates back to the 16th century. A third pub, The Horns, just outside the village boundary, is also only a short walk away. All three provide good pub food.
We are more than happy to recommend local places to eat and to make reservations for you.
